Schools to Consider

Aside from being able to browse through different motorcycle boots, I was able to get the numbers of the school that I am considering for Anevay. I hope one of these school would accept her for Grade 1 despite being underage and she does not speak or understand Filipino. For now, I am thinking of letting her have exam at St. Scholastica Academy, Assumption Antipolo and UP Integrated School. We prefer that she would be enrolled in a catholic school but I am keeping my options open. There are a lot to consider but I hope before December we already have a definite school.

Just Proud

I would admit that there are times when I am struggling with teaching or reviewing Anevay. It isn't easy since her interest lies in more complicated matters. Like the planets, animals and building and rebuilding things like her space shuttle. But I said to the husband, I need to make sure that she knows the basic. From the letters to the numbers and their manipulations. This past few days I have been reviewing her for exam and she both makes me proud and frustrate me at the same time. After reviewing she still stays on her table to draw and write. Yesterday, I was so proud of her because she was able to write fairy princess on her own. She even recognized the word love on my shirt and can spell Mommy. Nice!

Discounts and freebies

I am looking for personalized gifts to be given away this Christmas season. I am trying to do my shopping early because I know I would have a busy one since we are going to prepare a lot of things which is not Christmas related. Now, I am thankful that there are red envelope discounts that would allow me to buy nice gifts for family and friends and would also give me big savings. Well, I am looking for different ways to save because we would be incurring a huge expense at that end of the year since we would be in Kuwait for a month. Yeah, if our plan push through we would be traveling on the 25th of December and would be coming back around the 3rd week of January. But before that grand vacation I have to do a lot of things.

For Her Costume

On Oct 21, would be the United Nations celebration in SVM then on the 24th would be the Trick or Treat. For her UN costume, she'll be coming on wearing the national costume of China with a head piece. I just borrowed her costume from a fellow mom whose daughter is the same age of Anevay but a bit bigger. Then for Trick or Treat, she wanted to be Hermione so last weekend we went to the mall to look for a robe. Unfortunately, we did not found one. We went to two malls already and I don't like feeling frustrated in every search. So, I decided to just buy the fabric and have it sewn. I went to the Marikina Public Market and asked around. They told me to buy Gina cloth and it only cost Php 30 per yard. I bought two yards. Making it to a robe cost me Php 150. Then I decided that she would also wear an A Line skirt. This time I bought a Katrina cloth which cost Php 70 per yard. And Php 150 to have it sewn to skirt. Oh yes, I have save a lot since I saw a Hermione inspired custom in Ebay ( the robe only) which cost Php 1800. Now, I am asking the husband to buy me a sewing machine. hahaha.

2nd quarter

Next week would be the 2nd quarter exam of Anevay. I already have their Activity Program for the said quarter and I am trying to review her as much as possible. I wanted to make sure that she understand every lessons that they have tackled. Good thing, there isn't about a collision estimation there or I would be in big trouble because I am clueless about that subject. Anyway, going back to Anevay's school curriculum, I am a bit surprised on their topic. I think they are a bit advanced. That would make me happy, right? No, somehow I have some apprehension especially when I am trying to review Anevay. Well, since I am here to tutor my daughter, I would make sure that she understands every subject written on the Activity Program. And that would also prepare her on the entrance exam that I am planning for her to take.

In her mind

Ever since I got the letter from school that for this year's trick or treat, their theme is Harry Potter, I decided to introduce Anevay to the magical world of Harry Potter. So that she will be the one to pick which character she would want to be on their costume party. At first, I was having second thought because I know she really don't like dark films with ghost, wizards and magic. But I just put in the DVD for the first book. Yeah, I have the DVD of HP from one to four. I decided to collect them so that when Anevay is of age, I'll let her watch it. And guess, she enjoyed the movie. We were able to watch the Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secret plus the Part 1 of the Seventh book. I am really amazed on her comprehension.

Some of her lines to me while watching :

- Mommy, I heard the Professor ( she is referring to Dumbledore) talks about Voldermort. He was the one who killed Harry's parent and was the one who gave Harry his scar in the forehead!

- Mommy, who was the girl that was taken to the Chamber of Secrets. ( I said it's Ginny). Oh, Ginny! That's because she read the diary, right?

- Mommy, why did they grow up so fast! ( because we skipped to Book 7). hahaha.

Then, since she decided that she would be Hermione, she told me last night to do something with her hair. She is indeed a challenging movie date :)

Is it Necessary?

I have changed my mind again. Due to recent events and based on my observation, I would be transferring the little girl to a big school next year. Hopefully there would be a school that will accept her for Grade 1 despite her age. She'll be 6 on July 2012. After their exam and once I got her card, I would be submitting all the requirements to the catholic school nearby. And also one in Antipolo. And because of this changes that I am willing to undergo, I am also considering on enrolling myself in driving school..again. To gain confidence. I told the husband that I would prefer having a car next year just in case Anevay would be in a big school. Whether the one in Marikina Heights or the one in Antipolo. I do hope that plan would push through. I hope it would be easy unlike changing ATV Tires. I am still praying for some enlightenment on this matter. I know this is not final yet and there are still things that would happen. And my options are open.

Before..

I started reviewing the little girl for her exam I am trying my best to catch up and finished some work. I really need to clean up everything because I am planning on going to my sister's house in the province on the Halloween break. There also preparation for the United Nations activity in school plus the trick or treat. And Anevay is also asking me to put up the Christmas tree already. So, I have to do some general cleaning first. Then I have to do some transaction regarding our house here in Marikina plus the one we are buying in Antipolo. hmmm! Too much to do that's why I am starting now.

Logico Piccolo - Grolier

Last Sunday we went to SM Marikina to look for costumes for Anevay. We would be looking for her UN costume plus Trick or Treat. She really don't want to buy any UN costume because she said she wanted to be Hermione. Their theme for Trick or Treat is Harry Potter. So before we went out I let her watched the first movie and showed her pictures of Hermione. Now, that's the only one she wanted to be. On our way out of the mall (unfortunately I was not able to find any costume so I am not in the mood) I was approached by a lady. At first I ignored her but when I saw what they offer I told the little girl to try it. I was overwhelmed with all the books that are on offer. I am already wondering if I need a stainless steel rings to put the books together.

The lady let Anevay to try their Fun thinkers first. And I am proud to say that Anevay did three pages and she was able to get all the write answers. And I saw how eager she was with it so I decided to buy the set. Grolier is selling the Logico Piccolo in SM. Here it is...

Concerns

This past few days I have been a bit stressed out with what I have been hearing about my daughter in school. I really don't want to write it down since I have realized that there are readers out there who value every word that I write here. And with that realization, I try my best censor myself. Oh, it isn't easy since in the past I would write whatever I want since it is my blog. But as I mature as a blogger I told myself not to give in much to my emotions when I am writing. As much as possible I would remain factual and would just give my opinion or story as the need arise. Anyway, back to my concerns. Because of what have happen I realized as Anevay goes through life she would have to deal with some situations by herself because I won't be always there at her side. And because of that also, I have made one final decision!

Slumber Party

The recently concluded activity in my daughter's school is the slumber party. It's a night party wherein the kids would come in their pajama. They would have some activity like storytelling, treasure hunting and socialization. We mommies and daddies also have time to interact with each other. We really have enjoyed the night. After this activity we would be preparing for her second quarter assessment and then it's trick or treat. How fast time flies. After that it would be Christmas. I know invitations for parties would be everywhere. Then there are also those who would have their wedding and some would give out Baptism invitations. And I am anticipating all this and somehow just thinking about all the activities stressed me out. Then I also have to look forward to the fact that we might be going to Kuwait for Christmas. No definite plans yet but it's on our list. So, I can't still tell whether we will be in or out of the country this December.

School Activities

Seems like I am lacking update here in my mommy blog. I have been busy juggling my offline activities that I end up tired and don't have the enthusiasm to blog anymore. Seems like every time I found myself in front of the computer there are other things to do that blog. Anyway, here is one of the activities of Anevay in the past that I was not able to blog.
