Changing Lanes

thoughts of MiLeT @ Tuesday, August 31, 2010 1 comments
I remember this movie. I wonder if there is one already in blu ray? I just love the title and its apt because of the way Anevay has been changing her taste nowadays. It can be seen already in the programs she wants to watch. Before, she really likes Playhouse Disney but now she would asked me to watch either Disney Channel or Cartoon Network. And do you know who she likes ? Hannah Montana and I carly. Yeah, those teen programs already. I know there would be more changes and I am preparing myself for it. haha. But I wish she would choose a different color and stop getting everything pink.

Harassed Mom

thoughts of MiLeT @ Tuesday, August 31, 2010 0 comments
I feel like I am one harassed mom. You see I am still strong in my resolve that I don't need house help. And the truth is I don't. If I hire one, I am afraid she will do the work and my motivation to move around which really helps me in my battle with LUPUS would be lessen. But right now, I can't barely breath. I would wake up at around 3 or 4am to go online. Check for some online work and then I would go offline when Anevay woke up. We'll eat breakfast, bathe and wait for her service. In school, I would let her play until the bell rings. When she's inside I'll leave to do some errands. Like go to the grocery, market or cook. Anything goes. By 10:30 I should be in school again. After lunch, if we have after school activities we would head there. Then we do some practice writing, watch tv and dinner. Most of the time, we are asleep at around 8pm. Still, I feel like I don't rest enough. But I am happy. I am loving every minute of being a mom.

Super Talkative

thoughts of MiLeT @ Tuesday, August 31, 2010 0 comments
I am missing my pink Samsung cellphone which I think I have lost in transit when we were going home from Kuwait. But of course nothing can beats the phone I am using now. I so love the Ireader that I was able to install. I can read ebooks anywhere or while waiting for the little girl to finished whatever activity she is doing. Today, we were having her Math sessions and I am listening to her interact with her teacher. She really is talkative and full of stories. Unfortunately I heard her saying some bratty comments that I felt I have to talk to her about. I love how she reason on but I still insisted that she needs to used her gentle voice every time she talks to her teacher. She finally agrees but I guess she still has some issues with her previous Math teacher and her self esteem is somehow low.

At fault?

thoughts of MiLeT @ Tuesday, August 31, 2010 0 comments
I don't know if I did the right thing. But what I am only after is to extend some help. You see, there was this baby sitter in the preschool who has a nine month old daughter. Since anevay has two stroller and a walker that is not being used, I volunteered to give it to her. And I asked her not to say a word to her employer since I am embarrassed that they might think I am stepping in their boundaries. So, Saturday the 'yaya' picked up the stuff from me. Then this morning, the 'yaya' came with her employer. It turns out it was her last day because she resigned from work. Sadly, during the weekend she requested for a day off from her employer. The request was declined and to persuade them she made me an excuse. Then she did not went back to them the next day because according to her it was only last Sunday where in she got the strollers from me. I was a bit dissapointed but let it go. The employer have talked to me and I told them that she picked up the stroller Saturday morning. I just let it go. As far as I know I am just being generous. And if they find fault in that so be it.

Educational Wooden Toys

thoughts of MiLeT @ Tuesday, August 31, 2010 0 comments
Instead of buying her wood swing set which I wanted for her for a very long time now, I am thinking of just buying her some educational wooden toys like the one she fancies from school. You see everyday, they were given 30 minutes to play in their play area. The toys that they would play are those that were from the idea of Maria Montessori. So they are learning while playing. And that's one of the things that I like, I found one and I am still debating if I should buy or not.

This or
this? That's is the question.

Done! Done! Done!

thoughts of MiLeT @ Sunday, August 29, 2010 1 comments
Finally all my task are done. I was able to write 57 articles this weekend. Yap, even I cannot believed I have wrote that much. Thank you Lord for the wisdom and strength. I am glad that while blogging I still was able to cook, clean and even play with the little girl. I was even able to finished two ebook and currently watching a lakorn. I am glad online work is done so tomorrow I can concentrate on my offline duties. Thank you lord for the blessings and for people who are willing to extend help!

When it comes to Her future

thoughts of MiLeT @ Sunday, August 29, 2010 0 comments
All parents wanted security for their kids. We would do anything to make sure that our kids have a bright future. We would make all the sacrifices no matter how hard. I guess the husband and I would be one of those who would be willing to go the distance to make sure that Anevay has the best. Right now, we are not happy with the setup. So we are weighing things down, looking for business opportunity and sound investments. I guess, it would not harm to consider to buy gold coins. Since according to the usgoldbureau.com, gold really is a good investment and now is the right time to purchase one. I hope we could! And if not in bulk at least one per year.

Words

thoughts of MiLeT @ Sunday, August 29, 2010 0 comments
There was an incident two weeks ago that made me want to wage a war with a person. Anevay was so affected by a remark that was said to her in such an insensitive manner. Of course, the person denied having uttered the word but if you see Anevay's reaction you would sense that something really is amiss. I decided to remove that person in Anevay's list of people to interact to. But unfortunately the damage has been done already. It has somehow affected her self esteem. Imagine, I have been so choosy with the words I used with my little girl and in just a careless move it was ruined. As of this moment, the little girl still cannot forget the incident.

Two Toys

thoughts of MiLeT @ Sunday, August 29, 2010 0 comments

I am planning on buying her an easel as her daddy suggested because she loves to draw. In fact, my folder of her arts have now been filing up and I guess I needed some more clamps, if the plastic on the folder won't be enough. Actually it was not enough already but what I did is just put more that five paper in the plastic pages. I like how she kept on drawing what she is watching on the tv and when she sees me laying on bed and not feeling well, she would readily get a paper and draw something and would say ‘I hope this would make you feel better’. Such a sweet little girl.

And since she really has been good, I let her buy two toys. She ended up buying this.

pinypon She adores the Piny Pon every since she saw them on Cartoon Network. She kept on telling her daddy she wants one. So when she saw them at Toys R us she won’t put them down.

Then she saw this Toys Story bead. Yap, she still has not get over the gang. And I let her buy it because she really loves art. Here she is doing her creation.

IMG_20100829_114841 beads Busy bee, eh?

One of the Reason

thoughts of MiLeT @ Sunday, August 29, 2010 0 comments
One of the reason why I chose to enroll Anevay is a Montessori/Progressive school is I wanted the approach wherein they would be the one to adapt on the child's progress. And I am glad I have seen this in Anevay's current school. You see, last week she was given some home work. I thought all of them were given but it turns out she was the only was that has it. I confirmed this through the headmistress. I am glad I transfered her. She is quite happy now with her school and you could see it everytime she went home. She is full of stories about her classmates and her teacher. In fact, she knows the name of all her teacher as opposed to last year. I guess it also helps that they have a small population. They are not crowded and the Teachers were able to put in equal attention to them. Unlike in her previous school wherein most of the attention were given to those who kept on crying and the room was too small and they have I think 15 or 16 students.

I hope so

Now that I know that my words are not wasted with Anevay, I am trying my best to instill in her the value of frugality. I wanted her to grow up knowing that money is earned and not to be wasted. Also, I am hoping as early as now we can teach her in a way that she might look into her future not as an employee but as an investor. Maybe, when she can really gasped the idea of having bullion and gold coins is important we can start showing her things that would really help her in the future. I always believe that teaching her young would have a great impact to who she will be in the future. For now, reading about gold at usgoldbureau.com would be my tasked. Who knows I might strike gold and end up with a lot of cash in our account!

Teaching her Young

thoughts of MiLeT @ Sunday, August 29, 2010 0 comments

As I have previously blogged we went out yesterday. But before we went to the mall, I talked to Anevay. I told her I would let her buy only two toys and that it should not be expensive. I am trying to teach her to be frugal and put value on the money that we spent. And so we went to Toys R us. She was going around the store and would just pick out something she fancy. Then, she would glance at me and say mommy is this expensive. Boy, I was one proud mommy. She chose two toys and when I was showing her something she said ‘NO mommy, I already have two!’.

When the sales lady show her something, she politely said ‘No thank you! But I already have that home!’' My, I cannot help but smile. I now know that I can speak to her and she would understand. Thank you Lord for that!

Happy, Happy Mom!

Yesterday I decided to treat the little girl because I think she deserved it. Actually I was planning to treat her to a movie but decided otherwise because of the unpredictable weather. I am worried that we might be trap with flood water. Anyway, I am happy with the development of the little girl. One time a co parent told me that seems like the head of the school was surprised to hear that Anevay is trying to read the word 'fun'. Then she was given also additional assignments to work on. That is the reason why I am looking for sites which sell books. Those that can help her develop her writing and reading skills. For now, I am quite satisfied really with her. She seems to enjoy learning and because of that she always look forward to schooling.

In Her Costumes

thoughts of MiLeT @ Friday, August 27, 2010 2 comments

I  previously blogged about my search for anevay’s Linggo ng Wika costume. Well, I have not posted any pictures of her so here it is…the kids last Thursday in their Filipina costumes.

And while waiting for the bell to ring, the kids asked me to take a picture of them. On the last picture I asked them to give me their funny faces.

DSC04443 The next day, they were asked to be on their chef uniform. Here in my little one.

Growing UP!

thoughts of MiLeT @ Thursday, August 26, 2010 0 comments
Anevay seems to grow up fast. She has a lot of questions and have been surprising me every now and then of all the things she is doing. Right now her favorite thing to do is draw. She uses around 10 bond paper a day. haha. I am thinking what would she be when she grows up. Maybe a doctor because she likes to pretend to be one especially in times that I am just in bed, resting and she knows I am a bit sick. Well, as I told my husband, she can be anything she wants to be. She can even enroll herself in a Cosmetology School in Austin, I don't care. Well, enrolling herself in Regency Beauty Institute would surely give herself an edge in the cosmetology industry. As long as she likes what she is doing and that God would give me an opportunity to see her grow old. That would be enough joy for me.

Linggo ng Wika

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 18, 2010 0 comments
This week, Linggo ng Wika is being celebrated in the school of the little girl. On Monday, I was asking her what she did in school and told me that they have blue, red. At first, I don't know what she was talking about but later on she said there is also a start. So I figured that the Philippine flag was introduced to them. Then yesterday, she was talking about the carabao.

Today, I did not know what they do. haha. But we are all excited to see them tomorrow in their Filipiña costume. Good thing I was able to borrow one from a mommy friend from Ingenium. Someone from Smallville was offering her daughter's costume. I decline because I just feel like borrowing it. haha. Let's see what happen tomorrow.

Using Choptsticks

One time I was craving for sushi. Yes, I am into Japanese cuisine right now because of my health condition. So when we were in SM I decided to have lunch at Rai Rai Ken. Since I know that Anevay won't like it, I just ordered chicken in KFC which she can eat at Rai Rai ken. haha. And she was behave all throughout our meal, why? Because she is fascinated with the chopsticks. hahaha.

Here she is trying to eat.

Drawings

thoughts of MiLeT @ Thursday, August 12, 2010 1 comments

I am pretty much surprised with Anevay’s development when it comes to writing and drawing. Right now she can write her name already plus the numbers from 1 to 20. And she has tremendously improved when it comes to coloring. She colors within the line already. What really struck me right now is that she can draw figures. I love it when she would do something for me when she knows I am upset or sick. Just today when I told her I am a bit tired and needs to lie down and sleep, she went to her study table and just draw. She end up giving me two piece of paper with different drawings and told me ‘I hope you feel better now’. Such a sweet child.

Here are her latest drawing. Drawn yesterday and today.

004Guess who are the figures? She was watching Mickey Mouse Club House at the time she draw that.

This one also.

002

Then this according to her is a friend of Pororo. She said the name but I forgot. 003

And this she draw before she went to sleep last night. It’s the sun.

 001

Lastly something that makes me proud. She is starting to draw complicated figures. This are from animal mechanicals. lol.

005 Love all these! I am collecting all the drawings, putting in the date and writing down my thoughts on the paper where she draw and then I compile them on a folder. That way she can see them when she grows old.

Holiday and Travel Promo Codes

thoughts of MiLeT @ Thursday, August 12, 2010 0 comments
Annually I make it a point that our family would go on a family getaway. It does not need to be grand but somewhere that we can feel relaxed and as much as possible away from the hustle and bustle of metro living. I am quite happy that our vacations seems to have good result because the husband is rejuvenated and the memories leaves a nice impression on our little girl. So, since it's already nearing the 'ber months and the holiday mood will be around the corner, I am starting to plan for our next getaway. It's either locally or we go to Kuwait. And what a way to start the planning by hunting down Holiday Discount Codes. Discount codes really helps a lot when you are planning a vacation (especially when you are in your budget). Imagine, if you get a discount for your hotel accomodations that means you have extra money which you can used on other things like airline ticket or the food. You know, there are a lot of codes that you can get from the promocodes.co.uk. It's a great site to look for discount codes of the hotel you wanted to book or the vacation package you want to have! So go visit them now!

Nervous!

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 0 comments
That's what I am feeling right now. I don't know what will happen but I am praying to God that whatever the outcome is, I know it would be the best for us and our family. I just hope I have the courage to accept it. I know I am all stressed out about this but who can blame me? There are a lot of questions which can only be answered tomorrow and the succeeding week. God, please give me the strength. Thank you for all the blessings.

Gold Investment

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 0 comments
I feel like I really have to move and make sure that some plans that we have when it comes to establishing a business would push through this year. Or if not, at least the foundation of it have already been put up so that next year it would be the roll out. Aside from the business, we would also like to invest. Well, if we can by buying gold. I am currently trying to learn how to really make it big on the gold market. What are the things that I should do to make a break, a big break. It nice to know that there is a fanpage in Facebook that is dedicated to the gold market. The United States Gold Bureau fanpage has a lot of helpful link that would guide you if you want to invest in gold and silver. I do hope I can find time to browse and read through it.

Challenging Toys

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 0 comments

The husband likes to buy the little girl toys that he thinks enhances her problem solving skills. Every time he goes home he would buy her a lot of toys. In his last vacation, he added this to the little girls collection.

dino

pinkdoggy

She already have a similar toy like the pink one where in you built something out of the screws and buttons. This one was bought last December

robotblueNow, those are the toys that keeps her occupied. One time while I was busy working she approached me and told me she has a surprised for me. Which is this…

robot  According to her, that’s a cake. She put in the screw to serve as candles. haha. Imaginative, eh?

The Rose

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 0 comments

I have posted this on my Facebook account and I really cannot help but post it again here. I know my little girl is pretty and she is also friendly. She never had a hard time talking and interacting to strangers. So it’s no wonder that in school she is the favorite of her male classmates. One classmate would even follow him around the school and their room which sometimes irritate the little girl. This classmate is also jealous when Anevay would kiss a fellow classmate. haha.

Anyway, I did not know that the younger brother of Anevay’s classmate likes Anevay. The mother only told me a couple of days before the rose incident. The boy said that he likes Anevay. So, one time while their maid was cleaning, she put down an artificial rose on the floor. The little boy, D, pick it up. His mother upon seeing it said not to get it because he might just ruined it. The little boy said NO and told his mom he would bring it to school. The mom teased the boy and said that he will just give it to Anevay. Boy D, denied it and said that the rose for him only. But lo and behold when they arrived in school and he saw Anevay, he quickly handed the rose to her. hahaha. And look at my little girl’s face upon receiving it.

rose Pretty girl!

Planning To

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 0 comments
When everything else is settled I really wanted to go back to school to take up a business course. Actually if ever I would enroll the little girl in one of the all girls school I am scouting (which has a college department), I would also enroll myself so that no time is wasted. But I am still weighing things since we don't know yet what our future would bring especially on my health. So for now all I am doing is I research online degrees and write down what I like. After that I would put in the pros and cons. It's nice that I can used the listing in collegedegreestoday.com as reference for the courses.

Big Leap

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 0 comments
One time last week I was reviewing Anevay's worksheet and I was surprised to see that she seems to write the numbers corresponding to the number of dots on the worksheet. It was kinda complicated worksheet because the student is encourage to identify how many dots were there without counting them one by one. It look like this Anevay is already familar with dots until ten. She can determine how many dots are there with just one look. So, our next task is for number to twenty. This time, she is writing the corresponding number in the box. And boy was I proud when I saw that she can write 1 to 20. Not only that she can now spell and write Anevay on her own. Oh my baby is improving.

The Bike

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 2 comments

When we were in Kuwait, the husband bought the little girl her pink PSP. According to him that was his advance birthday gift. And we went home, he bought a Lenovo netbook ( the touch screen) and again tagged it as an advanced gift. When he went back to Kuwait, and he and the little one chat, Anevay would always asked her for a bike. She said she wanted one for her birthday. And so, bike it is!

DSC_0689The helmet and safety pads were birthday gift from my older sister.

We only used the bike in the garage since the husband said that if ever we go outside I need to asked the assistance of my older brother.

For the future

thoughts of MiLeT @ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 0 comments
My husband and I are always talking about our future. We wanted a secure one before he goes home for good. One of the things we are looking into to make sure that this becomes a reality is by putting up a business. I was also telling him maybe we should invest on stocks and also buy gold coins. Unfortunately we don't have time to learn both. Actually we already have stocks but the problem is we don't know how to play in the stock market. Same goes to gold. It's nice to know that there are those who put up pages and write articles to guide us wanting to learn about the gold market. One of the site that has valuable information about gold is the usgoldbureau.com. So if you want to learn about gold and silver visit the site.

Short Hair

thoughts of MiLeT @ Tuesday, August 10, 2010 0 comments

I am feeling a bit guilty because I accidentally cut the little girl shorter. I only planned a trim but unfortunately because she keeps on moving, the damage was done. hahaha. Though she said she love her new hair and I am finding something positive about her short hair. Less shampoo, easy to style and quick to dry but still I love her lovely curly long hair. Well, it will grow again and I hope it would be soon. Here are here pics during a birthday party of two of her classmates in school.

I have cut the viewing time of Anevay again. I just let her watch when I really have to beat deadlines and I need something to distract her. But I make sure it’s for only an hour our two. I have a feeling that this affect her attention in learning. But when she is not watching tv, we play or she do stuff by herself. Most of the time she would be sitting in one of our modern sofas and would just draw. But her favorite and my favorite to is the way she cut papers and then stick them and would give them to me and say I have a surprise for you! And she would say I love you. Such a sweet child. I am really happy with her development. Now she is into drawing her concept of family. Though her daddy is most of the time away because of work, she still would picture him and include her in our family picture. Just like this.

DSC04380 According to her that’s daddy, mommy and Anevay. And here is her drawing of herself. Look at the eyes.

Bonding in the Rain

thoughts of MiLeT @ Saturday, August 07, 2010 1 comments

I am in the mood to post some pictures right now. It’s been a while since I have this idle time and even if I am a bit sleepy already I still wanted to write. I hope next week I have plenty of time to still do some serious blogging. haha. But I think after this post, I would be signing off, read one more ebook and then sleep. Tomorrow will be reviewing for the little one’s exam. And then for next week we will only be going to school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is a disruption in my schedule but I don’t have a choice. I am not sure though if I can still go to the market because the schedule of the little girl is for only 1 and a half hour.

Anyway, enough of that. When the husband was home the weather was kinda unpredictable. Sometimes it’s hot and then it becomes gloomy and then it would rain. Working in a country where rain is not ordinary ( they have sandstorm there as an equivalent) he was always glad for the rain. And he wanted Anevay to take a bath in the rain. Unfortunately, she is scared of rain and thunder. But one time, while I was busy entertaining a guest in the house, they went outside. At first the little girl was hesitant to go but little by little daddy convinced him that it’s fun.

DSC_0664

DSC_0668

They were using leaves as a boat. And yes, they are on the side of the road. I was already telling the little girl to come inside but she refused. Instead they crossed the street and played there.

DSC_0678 Until today the little girl cannot forget this moment. When it rains, she would smile and would say, ‘Daddy and I played on the rain mommy!’. I guess this simple gesture of her dad has left a special place not only in her memory but also in her heart.

4th Birthday @ Jollibee

thoughts of MiLeT @ Saturday, August 07, 2010 1 comments

Really I am not into party ( but I am very much interested about ssdi). I don’t like crowds and the hassle of preparations and cleaning up after the event. haha. But since the husband was coming home for the little girl’s 4th birthday I decided to throw in a simple celebration in Jollibee where I can invite friends who I have not seen for a long time. Also, I wanted the kids to enjoy.  I invited some kids from the neighbor, kids from Anevay’s previous and current school and also some blogger friend. I was glad most of them came. Especially the kids and they bonded well together even if it’s their first time to see each other.

The birthday celebrant wore her pink RL dress courtesy of Faye.

I wanted the Jollitown theme but a day before or was it early morning of the party I received a phone call from a crew that until that moment the party favors for Jollitown are not yet available. Instead of stressing about it I just told her to used anything that is available. I think the kids won’t mind. Before the party, the host approached me and told me they have promo. For an addition Php 400, Jollibee will stay for one hour. So, I took the promo since I hate it when you have to rushed to take pictures of Jollibee. haha. And he stayed. That’s why we were able to take pictures of almost all guest with him. But the problem is he is stinky! haha. The costume of the mascot needs some serious cleaning.

The party went well but I am not satisfied with the host. He seems not friendly to kids. And not lively at all. There are still some leftover food and party loots.

But all in all we had a blast. Anevay was so happy.

My older sister. She’s the middle child and I am the youngest. Both kids are wearing RL dresses which I bought at such affordable price from Faye.  DSC_0425The party ended at 7pm. You could have expected the kids to be tired and all? No, their was a continuation of the party at our house. Although it was just the four girls and my nephew busying himself with the psp of Anevay. But still it was a riot. Then Anevay’s god mother (two of my childhood friends came late because they got lost..hahaha). So they went to our house.

DSC_0656  Anevay can barely open her eyes when she was eating dinner. haha. But still the kids won’t admit that they are sleepy. They were excited in opening not only the gifts of Anevay but also the toys that the husband brought home from Kuwait. The house is in a big mess. But a welcome mess.

And from our family..Thank you very much for making Anevay’s birthday a memorable one. Thanks for the greetings!
