What do you think? I think she is a lot beautiful that Milrey, right? haha. I am a mother and I am biased. I know.
What do you think? I think she is a lot beautiful that Milrey, right? haha. I am a mother and I am biased. I know.
A lot of people (especially her in laws) are commenting that Keisha, her youngest is my look a like. She is indeed, right? The pictures were taken Christmas morning and I just woke up. haha. I cannot resist not carrying her. She weighs a ton! haha. Keisha at eight months is now wearing clothes that are designed for two year olds. That's how big she is.
Since I wanted another one, I tried browsing on the seller's other item. Which proves to be wrong because I end up buying this one as well.
Now I know I can resist temptation if it's for me. But if it's for the little girl, its definitely a different story.
The minute the husband left our house last night I have been working non stop. I have clean up the house, throw the trash and even have the energy to mop the floor. It’s a must because the house is a little messy and it keeps my mind off things.
Today, I am trying to catch up with online work. I am so thankful that God has given so many blessings my way starting January. I guess he heard my plea that I needed to earn a lot to pay for my credit card bills. hahaha. With our intention of putting in a bigger savings for this year I would appreciate any additional income that would come our way.
The husband is still in flight. There flight was delayed for about an hour because they needed to land in Bangkok because someone from his flight have a heart attack and would not wake up. I hope the man is okay now.
For me, I am doing the laundry right while blogging. I just fed the little girl and now I am going to bathe her. We would be attending a birthday party of her classmate later in the afternoon. Yeah, we really are back to our usual life. Will just need to be patient until Daddy comes home in time for anevay’s moving up ceremony in school.
The husband has already left the country last night. Even though we have been doing the goodbyes a lot of times already I still can’t get used to it. I was still crying a day before and the day itself. I got depressed seeing his luggage. haha. What really pains me is the good bye scene between him and Anevay. I thought she won’t pay much attention because she was playing some computer games. That’s the reason why I was not able to do some online stuff like look for nordictrack. But when her daddy said goodbye, she said goodbye in return but she started crying and said 'I’ll miss you daddy!’. That was the breaking point of her daddy. He cannot suppressed the tears anymore.
When her daddy left, I let her play on the computer. But from time to time when she needs assistance she would call her daddy. And when he realized that Daddy is not there she would wept. It’s heartbreaking. I can disregard the pain I feel but with the little girl I wept inside. It’s so hard.
But I know in time we would be together. Either here or in Kuwait. This is my motivation to put a great deal of effort in saving and looking for a business this year. With God’s help I know we can do it!
Of course after the vacation it’s back to normal again. I received the circular from Anevay’s school this week about paying the reservation fee. I was a bit surprised because I think it’s too early. But the thing is the school that Anevay is enrolled is gaining popularity in terms of quality education so I guess they really need to know their numbers before the school year.
The husband and I already decided for the next school year we will still enroll the little girl in Ingenium. I am quite satisfied with their system. That is, if we won’t be going to Kuwait. Well, that’s another plan for us.
As for summer, I won’t be enrolling her in the summer class that the school will offer. The husband and I have talk about it and we want Anevay to rest from school. Her kumon classes will still continue and then I would be enrolling her for swimming lessons again in Georgetown then ballet lessons. To say the least, I am excited for summer. haha.
Seeing how beautiful Coron is, the husband has feel in love with it. He wanted to come back again and buy a property there. Truth is, I wanted also. It’s was the first time I saw the husband’s excitement when talking about outings. For him every outing is just the same. I think for this one, he view it differently. Aside from the fact that he enjoyed every single minute bonding with her beautiful princess.
According to him the underwater view have given him revived energy. I think he also slept soundly at night. I thought he would be needing the best sleep aid to make sure he sleeps the usual eight hours needed by our body. I hope that the vacation plus the pictures that I printed would be enough for him to endure another three months away from us.
As for me, I am starting to save for our next vacation. Yey! I hope we can go to Puerto Princesa next year. I think the same month, Jan, since the spot are not crowded. In fact, when we were in Coron, we were the only one in Atwayan beach. It is as if we own it. haha.
Our last day which includes a breakfast and also a trip to the airport. I am surprised that Anevay woke up early again. And she complained because it’s too dark. You see, Coron has a scheduled brownout. Around 6am to 8am. And the hotel’s generator would only be switched on if they feel that there guest are awake already. On my side I have to ask them to switched it on for the little girl and also for her quaker oat meal.
At around 8:30, a van (which serve as a taxi in Coron) came to pick us up. We were seated in front so I was able to have a chat with the driver. For a ride from the hotel to the airport you need to pay Php 150. And we also asked him how much real estate property cost there. Because the husband is interested in acquiring a property in Coron. Along the way we saw sign of lots for sale. I think the lot there cost Php 1000 per sq meter.
The road to the airport includes some pave and rough road. The little girl is energetic and singing all the time on our ride. When we reach the airport it’s totally different story. Mommy and daughter are both throwing a tantrum. haha. It was so hot because there is no electricity in the airport nor generator. I was just glad there were no delays on our flight.
The one hour plane ride was spend eating chips which we bought on board. When we got home the little girl did not sleep. Seems like she misses her toys. But around 7pm she dose off…
Sweet moments like this made me really grateful to God’s plan.
Because of the previous day activity the little girl sleep soundly during the night. Actually she feel asleep during our boat ride but woke up when we come back in the hotel. While waiting for our tour to be setup she spend her time watching Tinkerbell on her daddy’s laptop. You see for this trip we got everything covered. haha. Thanks to the wonderful planning of the husband.
And then after we showered and dressed, I told the husband to get some more pictures of us in the hotel lobby.
I know I am big. But I don’t really care. haha. And I am somehow afraid of the side effects of diet pills that’s why I am still thinking if I should take them or not.
For our third day, we again went to the beach first where we swim and enjoyed the waters.
My father and daughter tandem again had a great time bonding. She would sit on his shoulder and then he would submerged himself on the water. All the time Anevay was screaming in glee.
But the moment that made me proud as a mom was when Anevay bravely went down the deep water on the Skeletal Wreck. I was really nervous and was hesitant to go down the boat. Anevay is different. When she saw that Daddy was coming down, she asked the tourist guide to put on her vest. Imagine that!
It was a great time for me. After this, she slept again in the boat and because she was tired she did not even woke up when we got off the boat, went to the hotel and laid her on the bed. It’s a good thing that I changed her to dry clothes after swimming. She slept until 12am. haha. Then I fed her sinigang na baboy. She played until 1am and then slept again.
Despite the fact the little girl did not have a nice night she was up early and energetic. Who wouldn’t ? If you wake up in this scenery.
The husband ask me if we could go outside and walk along the dock. I said yes of course since it’s always my dream to spend a morning walking along the shore line. But before that I was able to capture this beautiful sight.
Ah moments like this are priceless. This was taken outside the hotel’s restaurant. After this we went to the dock.
While on the stairs (which was the path to the boats), my father – daughter tandem saw a starfish.
Then our entire day was spend in the water. Swimming on a beautiful beach. For this trip I am thankful that the package consist of two hotel staff ( who are gay and in their early twenties ) who served as a baby sitter to Anevay. If not for them we won’t be having so much fun.
For our Coron package, the little girl is free of charge. Well, she should be because she is co sleeping with us and is not really big on meals. But for this vacation I made sure that she won’t get hungry any time. She gets cranky when she is hungry and so I need to make sure I have snacks on hand. I brought along a snack box which contains chips, biscuits and three oat meals.
The oat meal proves to be a life saver and a great starter for the day. Coron is a remote island with out the stuff that we are used to in Manila. For one there are no fast food and they have limited supply for snacks. And those that are available are not of Anevay’s type. And so every morning before we go to our island adventure she got this for breakfast.
Thanks to the oatmeal, I did not have a hard time feeding the little girl. It save me from using any acne treatment cream. It easy to prepare and hot enough to warm the little girl’s tummy. A cup would make her full until 9 or 10am.
Let me chronicle our vacation in Coron with a toddler in tow. It’s not our first time to go on a vacation that is a plane ride away from Manila. In 2007, we were able to spend three days and two nights in Cebu and one day in Bohol. Anevay was just one and a half year old then. I can say that it’s much easier now that she is all grown up and can conversed. I remember on our plane ride to Cebu, she was crying as the plane descend. Thankfully that did not happen, the little girl was behaved on the plane, looking out on the clouds and the sky.
As we landed in the Busuanga airport, she was sleepy already. So, I expected that she would be sleeping by the time we arrived at the hotel. The hotel is 45mins away from the airport. But as soon as we were ushered to the room she woke up.
She started exploring the hotel room and of course wanted to dive in the tub. haha.
After eating our meal (courtesy of the hotel’s package ) we went to Maquinit Hot Spring. The moment she saw the water, she wanted to to for a swim already.
I was scolding myself when I realized that I forget to packed the life vest of anevay. But of course, the Daddy did not let that fact spoil her princess fun. He was all out in making her scream in delight. Anevay did not even mind the hot water. hehe.
After swimming, she was hungry. Again, my fault. I did not thought of putting some snacks in our bag for the little one. So, I bought something from the nearby canteen. She end up eating magic flakes cracker. haha.
I was so happy when we arrived at the hotel and our dinner includes soup. The tourist guide ( who doubled also as a hotel staff ) granted my wish to include sinigang in our meal.
The night proves to be uneventful. Not sure if it’s because she is unfamiliar with our sleeping quarters or she was so tired of the day’s activity. When she wakes up she would cry.
I am excited for 2010. I am excited to see our that our goals are achieved. The husband and I are discussing what we wanted to accomplish for this year and both of us vowed to save a certain amount. It’s a toss between having the husband comes home every quarter or we go visit him in Kuwait for three months.
We are also planning to buy a car at the end of the year or maybe when he comes home this march. I am not still sure when we are going to buy one or if it’s brand new or second hand but yesterday we were already tempted to get the Chevrolet Spark. Actually it’s a small car and it’s the one I wanted. And knowing the husband ( he saw that I really like it ) he was already telling me that we should get it because the down payment is only Php 75K and the car is only worth Php 505K. Still I cannot help but think about the car, it's giving me sleepless nights (good thing I have a very good under eye cream for dark circles or I might look like a zombie today) But I remind him of our challenge of putting money in our savings account, thank God we were able to prevent ourselves from our impulsiveness.
On my part, I promise not to spend much on shopping. haha. This would be a great challenge and I hope I can hold my ground.
Though there are times when I got sick and the little girl has episode of getting high fever, I still can say that 2009 is a great year for our mother and daughter tandem. We were able to achieved so many goals and I am thankful for a very supportive husband who is always there for me and Anevay.
For 2009 :
Indeed a lot of milestone happens this 2009. I am so thankful for this year because it’s a year where I think I have grown a lot as a mom.
While I was blogging like crazy (and researching about extenze) about our Coron vacation I realized I haven’t posted any of our pictures during the holiday nor was I able to come up with a decent entry about how we spend Christmas and New Year.
Well, it’s been a busy three weeks for our household. For me in particular. When the husband arrived we were always out of the house, running errands and having a great time.
Christmas as usual was spend in the house of my father’s oldest sister. That has been an annual thing for us ever since we were born. No matter what happen, Dec 25 would always be a day in Makati for us.
I requested my brother and my sister’s family to wear red because I wanted to have a family portrait with matching colors. Unfortunately, we were not able to take picture. lol.
After the gathering we headed to Serendra but the kids are already hungry and they are looking for fast food ‘food’. haha. We decided to just go to SM Marikina and eat at KFC. Believe me, they had a great time eating!
And then New Year was spend here at our house with just the three of us. I was able to cook pansit, halaya and almondigas. I was having a grand time in the kitchen because the husband is helping me. We went to hear mass on the Eve of the New Year and when we come home, I asked him to set up the camera so that we can have our pictures taken.
All these pictures were taken using the Nikon D5000 that the husband bought as a Christmas gift for me (oh well, he can’t complain since I already claimed ownership to it. haha). We used it with a remote control.
One of the thing that I am thankful that I have and brought along during our trip is the Kate Spade ‘kikay kit’ bag I bought from Faye. It’s very useful and proved to be handy for our island hopping tour. Want to see it?
What I like about this bag is that the middle can be detached from the bag. So, when we go out for a swim in the beach, it’s the only thing I bring along.
Nice right? Check out Faye’s flickr account if you wanted good stuff like this one. And I am thankful that one of my cousin gave me this bag last Christmas.
It’s a beach bag with small holes ( it helps keep the dirt and sand away).
It can carry two towels, our clothes, the kikay kit plus the little girl’s snack and water bottle.
For four days and three nights and with a toddler in tow, packing is challenging for me. Most of the time, I kept on forgetting something. Which proves to be true for this vacation. haha. I did not brought along Anevay’s life vest. Gawd! Good thing I have a husband who does not scold me even if I am at fault. hehe. But despite that fact, I still scold myself. haha.
Are you curious about our luggage. Here take a peek.
The box with the pink cover serves as a snack box for the little girl. Anevay is a picky eater and I am already expecting that she won’t be eating much. Aside from the fact that she is too excited in the water activities that she will forget to eat. The snack box contains three YanYan, ten panda ( chocolate bears ) and some chips plus three quaker oat meals for her breakfast. I am so glad I packed some snacks for her because our meals does not include her favorite soup and mostly are seafoods. And the panda bears came in handy every time we were travelling by boat and she is hungry.
As for her entertainment since she only watch Playhouse disney and we are not sure that the cable tv in the hotel has it ( we have this experienced when we were in Cebu ), the husband brought along his laptop together with Anevay’s favorite cd ( Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell and Hannah Montana ). I also brought her leapster but it’s battery got exhausted on our second day. hehe. And so the husband’s Delseys was full of gadgets and cables.
Just imagine how heavy his bag is! The cables are mostly for our D5000. And so with we went to Coron having this luggage.
I was a bit worried that we might end up with excess baggage. haha. I used my Coach bag which I purchased from Faye and was very useful. It’s a big bag which I was able to put a lot of things. Anevay’s jacket, her water bottle, leapster etc. If you wanted bags like this one, Faye has a lot of stocks. You can check the link that I put on her name.
The husband and I are discussing our plans for this year. I have been laying out some of the things that I wanted to accomplish plus our expected expenses for this year on a monthly basis. You see, we promise ourselves that we will be discipline enough to make sure that we set aside a certain amount in our savings accounts so that we have enough funds in the banks to cover unexpected need for cash.
As for our investments, we are still looking for other options aside from what we have now. We still have two years to finished up for the husband’s insurance and three years for Anevay’s educational plan. Looking back I wish I have researched first which is the Best Term Life Insurance before signing up with my current insurance company. Though I have no major issues with them in general but I am having trust issues with our agent. She has done something that I really don’t like and as of the moment I don’t like to deal with her. I was looking for an option to transfer and have been reading through terminsurancerates.com because they offer an almost 70% discount on term life insurance by using low cost insurance. But despite the low cost they assure their clients that their agents are always there to assist them. That’s great service, you know! So if you are interested, go fill up the form on their website. Remember having an insurance is important especially if you are the head of the family or the bread winner.
Since I really wanted to escape the Metro even for just a few days, I told the husband that I would be planning an island getaway for his December vacation. He agrees and so I started plotting. hehe. For this vacation I have this vision of waking up with the sound of the waves and seeing water when you wake up. And so I have two choices : Boracay and Palawan. We already went to Cebu and Bohol last 2007. The husband does not like Boracay because it’s too crowded and according to many, have diminished it’s beauty. And so, Palawan it is!
When I was searching for things to do in Palawan, I realized that it is consist of a lot of island. I was torn between Coron and Puerto Princesa. While planning and getting booking and reservations, Anevay got sick that I have to put everything on hold. Oh before that I was able to get a good deal (or so I thought ) from KokusNuss Resort in Coron. That’s why I decided to fly via Cebu Pacific to Busuanga. Unfortunately, after depositing the 50% payment, I read the feedbacks on the said resort. I decided that I don’t want to stay on that resort and I looked for another accommodation. That proves to be a stressful task since it’s still peak season. But nevertheless, I was able to snag a good deal with Coron Gateway Hotel.
Because of what I read in tripadvisor.com, I was able to get some information that Coron attracts a lot of mosquito at night. There are also resorts with scheduled brownouts and don’t provide toiletries. That’s why when I have spoken to the AE of Gateway Hotel, I was able to asked the right question. I know the hotel won’t have mosquito issue as compared to the resorts and so my doubts about the vacation were somewhat appeased. But I still brought along the insect repellant lotion of Anevay and I have religiously put in on her morning, noon and night together with the sunblock.
