First one is Pathfinder. This school is just a few steps away from our house. Kaya its my first option. I called their school (tel no. 9487775) but was turned off by the guy who answered my inquiry. There was no warmth in the explanation of how they handled the enrollment. I asked them if they are accepting kids who would be turning three this july and I was answered na depende daw sa assessment ng bata. And I told them how would they assessed the kid. He answered me indifferently saying that we need to go to the school, schedule the assessment and from there doon lang namin malalaman. While talking to the guy on the phone I already crossed out Pathfinder on my list.
Second one is the Montessori just across the street. But I read a blog while I was researching and it said na nde masyado maganda ung mga rooms. The room were dark daw. And I have seen the school from the outside I have this creepy feeling about it. haha. Ewan ko ba.
Third one is ISYC.
I read somewhere that ISYC is one of the best pre school in Marikina so I wanted to check it out. I called them and they are welcoming. They even told me about their curriculum. And their tuition fee is Php 55K. I was like hesistant with the tuition fee but the husband is all out. He told me it's nothing lalo na kung ang pag uusapan is the foundation for good education for Anevay. Kaya nga daw sya nag abroad eh to secure Anevay's future. Syempre sino ba ako para magreklamo d ba? haha. I researched a little about ISYC and found an interesting thread sa Mom Exchange and there was a comment their which made me think twice about the school. Well, its already at the back of my mind before I even read the thread. The school is a little bit far from our house and is located on a busy street. The tricycle fare would be around Php 50. Papunta pa lang un. Even if we hire a school bus it would still be expensive.
So the last one which I almost did not call is Ingenium.
My sister in law have been telling me about this school since her neighbor and kumare have send his two sons there. Both of which are on the top of their class in Marist. Well the older one pala is now enrolled in Marikina Science high school. I called them and the lady on the other line was very accomodating in explaining everything to me. And when I asked her if we could drop by to check, she told me the time when I could come so that I can see their teachers in action so that I'll know how they conduct their education. So the husband and I decided to check them out kasi malapit sila. Eto na ang maganda. I know na malapit ung school sa min but I don't know the exact location. I was expecting that we will ride a tricycle so alam naman nila un. But the husband has a different idea. He hired a cab and the driver was not familiar in our area. Ang siste napalayo kami. Un pala the school is just a few blocks away from us. Super lapit lang. hehe. The moment we were there I was impressed with its location. It's not a busy street and they have a lady assistant (a lady guard shuns the guard uniform) who held an umbrella to us because it was raining at that time. Anevay eyes shines when she saw the kids and the playground. Buti na lang kasama ko si Joseph or else I won't be able to talked to the Teacher. Teacher Anne toured me around the school and gave me their brochure which contains the fee. Pareho lang sila ng ISYC. I thought there fee was around Php75k. I asked how they conduct their classes kasi I was hesistant baka maforce si Anevay eh. But she told me that for Anevay's age all they do is read, paint etc. It was just like Tumbletots. Un ang impression ko. And she told me that the ABCs and writing will be done later part na ng school year. Oh d ba? Pero depende pa rin daw sa skills ng bata since their method is progressive. The downside lang naman is that they accomodate 16 students per session (they have am and pm session) as compared to ISYC na 5 or 10 lang yata. But the husband and I agree that this is the school for Anevay.
Now I am excited na. I am waiting for February to pay the reservation fee and I'll asked them also if they'll conduct summer classes. I was telling the husband I am a bit emotional on this one since I just realized that I have a growing little girl na. hehe.
