Too HIGH or Too Low ?

thoughts of MiLeT @ Friday, September 12, 2008
I have been reading a lot about the effects of prolong exposure to television for infants and toodlers. They say that too much tv delays the child's speech development.

I was telling this to hubby since I am guilty of letting Anevay watched too much tv nowadays. Actually it is not that she is parked in front of the tv for hours, knowing her she won't stay still even just for a minute. Our scenario would always be the tv is turned on while she is playing or running around the house.

Now, I am really observing her if she is affected by the tv but I am thankful that she isn't. In fact, she seem to expand her vocabulary. Just a couple of days ago, she is reaching for something but she can't get it. So she reach for my hand, pointed out the object and say Mommy Too High. I was quite suprised. I asked her, What? She answered back Too High. And then she touch the floor and said Too Low.

Because of that, I was able to realized the she really said TOO HIGH and TOO LOW and understand it as well.

What do you think? Is prolong tv exposure really bad for kids?
